One of the first things I do with my clients is to draw out their story and find out who they are. It is in part our stories that make us brilliant. If you’re interested, here’s mine:

Some of my chapters...
At 14, I could often be found sitting at the kitchen table, learning about the challenges of running a big family retail business.

At 18 I was negotiating sponsorship contracts for my competitive dancing career and working on embodying presence on a crowded floor.

At 20 my father died, and I learned I could walk away from a dancing career I no longer wanted, because life can be short.

At 25 - as an event producer - I was coaching leaders on stage craft, helping them create presentations that would cut through the noise and watching from the back of a dimly lit room as they delivered them. Without really realising it I was getting an education on communication: what works and what doesn’t. Who reaches people and who doesn’t.

At 28 I followed my entrepreneurial heart and left employment to consult on employee communication projects.

At 29 I married the best man I have ever met.

At 31 I ran communication for one of the most senior and powerful women in the UK banking industry during the UKs largest ever financial services integration. The stakes were high. Able to really get her and her true voice in a way no-one had before, I translated her passion for the work, and her profound understanding of the business into an authentic way of communicating that would engage 40,000 frontline staff in being the voice of the bank, with the right message, no matter what.

At 31 soon after my first ever 10k month, I found I had nothing left in the tank. Within 2 months I went from the height of success in my career to not being able to work at all, hardly able to leave the house, suffering badly from Anxiety.

At 32, milestone by milestone I fought my way back into the world after a lot of reading, learning, braving, determination and the support of an excellent therapist. When I spoke at a futurology conference without wobbles, I realised what I’d learned about the nature of anxiety was a huge gift. I have been sharing that gift ever since.

Since then I’ve: Created frameworks and processes around presence, communication and leadership that have changed people’s lives. Had a miscarriage. Had 2 children and been bulldozed by love. Completed the most rigorous coach training and certification programme in the world (CTI). Wobbled my way through a pandemic alongside the rest of humanity. ...And done the work of my life - coaching brilliant people, doing things that matter. This is my gift and my best way of contributing to the world, and I love every second.
